History
Modern Farm Equipment was established
over 27 years ago when Gary and Carla Cranston
bought an existing dealership in Gordon,
NE.
Over the period of years
the dealership that handled both John Deere
and
New Holland equipment, parts and service
as major lines grew to be a sizeable force
in the agricultural market in the Nebraska
panhandle and surrounding states as well
as other markets in the United States.
In the summer of 2006 the
John Deere line was sold and Modern Farm
Equipment made the move to concentrate on
the growing New Holland line.
Following the disposition of the JD line,
the Modern Farm Equipment name was retained
for the New Holland line. Modern Farm Equipment
also moved to a more modern facility on
East Highway 20 in Gordon.
This new facility provides
more shop space, more parts area and a paved
display lot for equipment. All three departments
are still staffed by those with agricultural
backgrounds and factory-trained technicians.
Modern Farm Equipment has also added several
short lines of equipment to compliment the
New Holland agricultural line. These lines
include Rhino, HayBuster and eXmark.
The most notable recent acquisition designed
to provide additional service to the ag
sector and recreationalists is the Arctic
Cat ATV line. Along with the ATVs available,
we also carry the accessories designed to
make riding and working more comfortable
and enjoyable.
Modern Farm Equipment
takes pride in it partnership with the communties
it serves. They enjoy making contributions
to youth activities such 4H awards and training,
elementary school programs, FFA, high school
programs and county fair activities through
purchases and support for recognition awards.
Employees are urged to
become involved with the community also
through civic and governmental organizations
and activities.
